As part of Invasive Species Week 2016 SINNG held a design an invasive species competition. Children from St Breward and St Teath Primary Schools worked really hard to create the deadliest most invasive creatures they could.
The designs were judged by Dr Kelly Haynes, Programme Manager at Cornwall College Newquay, and placed in 2 categories. The winners of the best description were:- 1st Rowan (St Teath), 2nd Marcus (St Breward) & 3rd Ellie (St Teath). The winners of the best picture were:- 1st Jacob, 2nd Millie & 3rd Sophie all from St Breward.
All the entries were brilliant and we were very impressed by their understanding of the impacts of invasive non-native species. Thanks to both schools for taking part and we look forward to working with them again soon.
